COMPETITOR MONITORING

Know the moment
a competitor moves.

Most teams check competitors once a month, if at all. RankMesh's agent monitors rankings, content, and AI citations daily, and alerts you the moment a competitor outranks you, publishes new content, or gets cited by ChatGPT before you do.

COMPETITOR MONITORING FAQ

Competitor monitoring,
explained.

How often does RankMesh check on my competitors?
The competitor monitoring agent runs daily, checking ranking positions, new content, backlink changes, and AI citation status. It does not run on a weekly or monthly report cycle like most agencies and tools.
How many competitors can I track?
You can track multiple named competitors per project; exact limits depend on your plan. Most customers track their top 3-5 direct competitors plus 1-2 aspirational ones.
Does competitor monitoring cover AI search, not just Google?
Yes. The Competitor AI Citation Tracking feature checks whether ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity cite your tracked competitors for shared queries, so you can see if you're losing ground in AI search specifically, not just Google rankings.
Will I get spammed with alerts for minor changes?
No, you set custom alert rules and thresholds (e.g. only notify on a 3+ position drop or a new competitor page targeting your keyword), so you only hear about movements that actually matter.
Can competitor monitoring tell me what to do about a gap?
Yes. When the agent detects a content gap or a keyword a competitor is winning, it surfaces that directly to your content and technical agents as a prioritized opportunity, rather than leaving you to interpret the data yourself.
